While the wife’s Corolla is in the body shop the insurance company decided that she needed a proper mommobile and gave her the choice between a 2014 Sienna or a 2014 Town and Country. I don’t know what possessed her to pick the T&C but it looks like a giant black loaf of bread. I’ll get the chance to drive it over the weekend and write up a mini review.

step 1: disable traction control
Step 2:
That pentastar is stupidly overpowered for a minivan.

I Had one for 2 weeks or so when my wife’s wagon was in the body shop, I can say i shamed many of escalades at stop lights and on ramps during those 2 weeks...kinda made me want one.

First Impression:
2014 T&C with 39k on the clock and the interior still looks good, bravo rental company bravo.
An all plastic key, really? It looks like they didn’t quite want to pull the trigger on push button start so you put the fob in the ignition and turn it. I’d much rather have a switchblade key than this plastic monstrosity.
Quasi Flappy Paddle gearbox in a minivan? Only if rocker switches on the back of the steering wheel count as paddles but still. this requires more testing.
As the gear selector is mounted high on the dashboard all the controls are on one stalk opposite the selector. Figuring out the wipers was an adventure, it shouldn’t be.
Visibility is okay unless the headrests up in the back row which makes the rearview mirror pretty useless. The rental company was nice enough to put blindspot mirrors on it and those coupled with a rearview camera make this stupidly easy to park.

So the rocker switches are radio controls, lame. the quasi shift youself automatic uses the selector on the dashboard to go up/down and its only functional for doing things like starting in a different gear not for spirited driving.
